ITALIAN LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

Basic Level

Come and enjoy a Weekend Immersion Class with a native speaker at HI Austin’s gorgeous location directly in front of Town Lake! This course is designed for students with little or no knowledge of Italian. It will focus on communication skills supported by a basic knowledge of grammar. It will also provide insights into Italian culture. Through a variety of engaging approaches and methodologies including role-play, task based training, kinetic learning as well as reading and writing tasks, participants will develop linguistic skills in a natural and fun way.

You will learn to:

• greet & address different people in different situations
• introduce yourself, exchange personal info (name, nationality, job, where you are from, where you live, age, languages you speak, status)
• express likes & dislikes
• ask and answer simple questions (including directions, buying/ordering food and drink)
• tell time
• describe people and things
• talk about the family
• talk about your daily activities (and therefore relevant vocabulary)

You will also gain:

• insight into Italian culture, values and way of life
• awareness of differences and similarities between Italy and the US

When: Saturday, February 28th, 9.30am – 4.30pm
          Sunday, March 1st, 10am – 5pm

Cost: $249. This fee includes 12 hours of instruction, all handouts and a workbook
         suitable for continued self-study!
         Early bird fee: only $ 225! Handouts and workbook included.

Following your registration you will receive an e-mail letter of confirmation, directions to class location and other pertinent information regarding your class.

Notice of cancellation: Should your personal availability preclude you from attending and/or you must cancel your reservation, please do so prior to fourteen (14) days before your scheduled class begins in order to receive a full refund less $60 processing fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations within less than fourteen (14) days before your scheduled class. A friend may attend in place of registered participant at no additional cost via a submission in writing.
